Shanks' Pony is an idiom referring to walking. Suggesting that in the absence of any other means of transport you will have to walk. Although I guess it might make quite a fun cycling route. (Nearest cycle hire station to start point is at N34 40.691 E33 03.059 and there's one quite near the finish too, go to https://www.nextbike.de to register beforehand)
It's great in the very early morning before the sun and the muggles get started, but it might also make an interesting pub crawl for a group or quite a spooky night cache.
The final location, with the actual cache, is in a very muggly place but is at an angle that means you shouldn't be observed. It's a bit small for a regular, but it has a capacity of 1L so that's what I classified it as.
I make no apologies for this being a linear walk, at the end you will see why. I have designed this route carefully to keep within pleasant streets as much as possible if done in order, if you decide to do them out of order and take short cuts you may find yourself in some of the more grim, run down parts of the city instead which would be a pity.Please replace the cache exactly where you found it
