It is hard to conceive that a year has passed since I embarked upon that fateful journey. It was at that time that Jogmuir the wizard approached me with an unbelievable tale of a Talisman of great power, lost for centuries in the forests of Edwardgard. The Talisman was created to bring health and long life to a king, but had plunged the continent into a hundred years of war. Thousands died trying to possess it.
Years ago, Jogmuir had come into some knowledge that this talisman had been hidden in the forest to prevent the continuous bloodshed that surrounded it. He had been searching for the secrets to the location of this Talisman for most of his life, and believed he had found the location of a parchment that offered information about the final resting place of the Talisman. He wanted me to accompany him to the headwaters of the Glas Gaiblainir, where this parchment was said to be. At first I denied him, saying he should assemble an army to undertake a quest of this significance, but Jogmuir wanted to keep his quest a secret, confiding this to me only.
With provisions for a fortnight, we set out to the plains of the Spicewoods, where the headwaters of the Glas Gaiblainir may be found. Before we arrived, we were set upon by Hellhounds. Jogmuir was bitten before we drove them off. For the next several days, as Jogmuir slowly transformed into a Hellhound, he passed on what he had learned and made me promise to complete the journey. He told of three questions that must be answered, as the answers provide the clues to the resting place of the Talisman. When he could speak no more, I killed him with my sword and left him on the hillside. I could do no other for my friend.
To fulfill the promise I made to him, I continued on my journey and was successful in finding the questions of which he spoke. I was able to answer the questions, but the answers did not provide me with the final resting place. Instead I was confronted with a code that I could not understand. I inscribed the questions and answers on a parchment and began the return trip where I would endeavor to decrypt the code. But before I was able to leave the forest, I was held up by highwaymen who took my parchment. Returning home, I began my research to find the key to the answers, knowing that once I found this, I could easily retrace my steps to the locations of the questions.
Last week, I found a scroll which I believe holds the secret of answers; but alas, the last year has been unkind to me and I do not believe I will survive the journey. I will pass the information I have to you.
You must answer the questions 3 and use the scroll to decode the answers to find the final resting place. Here are the notes that I took as Jogmuir told his story. If the talisman truly exists, it must NOT be allowed to resurface. Mankind is still not ready to share in such a rare gift. If it is found by someone else, the world could once again be plunged into the darkness of war. The fate of the world rests in your hands! I give to you my sword; you may very well need it before your journey is complete. Beware of the attack of the three-leaves! I did not see any during my initial journey, but I was traveling during the dark season when they fear to show their pitiful existence.
Your journey may be strenuous, involving trails in steep terrain; however, no cliff-scaling is required.
