Geocache Description:

Located near the base of Picketpost Mountain near Superior, Arizona. Elevation: 2756 feet

I placed this cache as well as another at the summit of the mountain in order to get more cachers to this spectacular area. It is not very difficult to get to this cache, but I recommend going all the way to the top of the mountain. The views from the top are simply amazing!

After parking in the maintained parking lot, proceed to walk down the old mining road. After a short distance this mining road splits, with one branch continuing along the creek bed, the other crossing the creek bed and ascending towards the mountain. The trailhead can be found at the end of the ascending mining road. A mine shaft is nearby, take care not to fall in! This cache is at the top of the hill that the trail climbs right after passing the mine shaft. It is only a few feet from the trail, so please don't bushwack!

The container is the size of a spray paint can and it is spray-painted black. If you plan on continuing to the summit (recommended), make sure to bring plenty of water and be prepared to do some actual climbing towards the top.

Good Luck and Enjoy!
