How Geocaching Works
This cache is hidden on 1st Avenue close to the infamous Blue Parrot Beach Club which I understand from the locals was the only bar around 15 years ago. Now there are numerous drinking & eating establishments in Playa del Carmen, including this Canadian sports bar Los Tabernacos. The cache, inside a small plastic bag, is a wooden Canadian Bear that swivels open to reveal a logbook , pencil, and a few pins from Canada.
The cache is NOT hidden inside the premises but on the deck (tables) and if you search before the business opens at 3 pm or on Mondays you will have a relatively muggle-free search. The business owner, a fellow Canadian named Daniel is aware of the cache and gave us permission to put it here so you don't need to worry if he's around. In fact Daniel has agreed to do my cache maintenance. If you come after 3 pm don't worry about the patrons either as they are too busy chatting or watching a game on the gigantic projection TV.
Please remember to replace the bear's pink elastic belt so that the container won't open and lose its contents when replacing the cache in its hidey hole.
