Manito Park is the crown jewel of Spokane Parks. Thousands of visitors to the Inland Northwest visit Manito Park and enjoy its beauty every year. Its name is derived from Algonquin Native American Tribe dialect and means "Spirit of Nature." It was designed by the Olmstead brothers who also designed Central Park in NYC.
This venerable old cache (it's been here 12 years and found over 1000 times!) is a small 30 cal ammo can. The last cache in this Park was compromised so this one has been camoflaged to make it harder to find. It is located about 100' from a main road and near a small foot path. This park is very popular with lots of foot traffic all times of the year so please be careful when logging and rehiding.
When you rehide there is no need to pile on extra rocks, etc. Please don't do that as it makes it too easy to find for the neighborhood kids. You can park at Grand Blvd and 18th Ave or Bernard and 20th near the Japanese Gardens.
After you find the cache spend a little time enjoying the Park, The Gaiser Conservatory, The Duncan Gardens, the Ferris Perennial garden, rose hill, and the Japanese gardens. The cache is loaded with an array of different things. Enjoy.
