Geocache Description:

NOTE -- There is a $5.00 parking fee per car to enter the State Park, or you can purchase a yearly pass that will give you unlimited entrance to all GA State Parks. Hours: Park: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Office Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ***THIS CACHE WAS PLACED BY PERMISSION OF THE PARK MANAGER. PLEASE OBEY ALL PARK RULES -- NO AFTER HOURS NIGHT CACHING -- NO BUSHWHACKING -- NO SHORTCUTS ON SERVICE ROADS OR POWER LINES -- STAY ON MARKED TRAILS UNTIL WITHIN 200' OF CACHE.***

You will begin your adventure at the Trailhead 1 Parking lot. It is on the right after entering the park and just passed Flat Rock Rd. This trail has been named the Brown Thrasher Loop after Georgia's state bird. This is a new trail that has been marked off, but not cleared completely off. In other words, it is not finished yet. We have placed three caches on this loop so that geocachers can help to build the traild. PLEASE follow the faint path that follows the pink/orange ribbon markers. Instead of creating a "geo" trail (which is what we are famous for) this time we will be helping the state park to build the actual trail. PLEASE stay with the trail as long as you possibly can. All of the caches are placed within 100-200 feet of that trail loop.  Also note, it is unlawful to park on the roadside in our state parks so PLEASE be sure to park in an authorized parking lot!!! There is a $5.00 parking fee to enter the park unless you have a yearly pass, which can be purchased at the visitor center.
