Geocache Description:

St Patrick is celebrated as the patron saint of Ireland. He was born in the late 4th century in Wales, kidnapped and was taken to Ireland in captivity for six years. He returned to Ireland as an adult and a priest, having been named the second bishop of Ireland. There are numerous legends surrounding Patrick, most unsubstanciated. Patrick is said to have driven all the snakes out of Ireland, by giving a stirring sermon from a mountaintop. Shamrocks are worn by his followers on March 17th, his feast day, as a tribute to Patrick because he supposedly used a three-leafed shamrock to explain the relationship of the Holy Trinity.
Whether or not any of this is true, Patrick is largely reponsible for the peaceful conversion of many Celts to Christianity. This is a religious holiday in Ireland, but most of us in the U.S. know it as an excuse to drink copious amounts of green beer!
Trade items are green or St Patrick's Day themed, trade in this manner if possible.
