The Pella Tulip Festival celebrates the city's Dutch heritage with three days of events.
Each day features two parades, an afternoon parade at 2 p.m. and a lighted evening parade at 8:30 p.m. Costumed residents scrub streets, dance in wooden shoes and entertain you for an hour prior to each parade.
Food stands fill side streets with food ranging from traditional Dutch to American. Demonstrations of Dutch Letter making and wooden shoe carving take place in the Historical Village.
Dutch letters are in the shape of a S for strout (ha ha) you can order in any shape any other time of year.
