Welcome to the most favorited Geotrail in the United States - “The Gadgets of Berkeley County (GBC)”. Although there are NO coins left, if you love gadget caches this trail is for you. This trail put gadget caches on the map. All 13 caches are unique. While your here in Berkeley County, visit the trail that has been visited by cachers in over 40 states an a dozen countries.
The Martinsburg-Berkeley County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and WVTim partnered to place this very unique Geotrail in 2014. All the caches on this geotrail begins with GBC and then a number and the cache name.
Each cache is very different and sometimes very challenging. We hope to make your time here in our beautiful county one you won't soon forget. You will feel certainly feel a sense of accomplishment when you solve the solution needed to find the logs in these caches. .
Geocachers have awarded the caches in Berkeley County over 17000 favorite points, making Berkeley County one of the best caching counties in the country. Enjoy!!
This Geotrail has now earned over 4500 favorite votes from appreciating geocachers. WVTim and the Berkeley County Visitor's Center understand favorite votes are "earned" and we THANK YOU ! Because you have appreciated this trail, we have now introduced two additional Geotrails . In 2015 we introduced Mystery Caches of Berkeley County (GC5QPM) all the caches start with MCBC and the newest trail introduced in 2016 Smart Caches of Berkeley County (GC67954) all these caches start with SCBC Because of the effort and expense that went into building these gadget caches, most of the caches are premium member caches.
The CACHE
This DAY LIGHT only cache is one of the few non-gadget caches on the GBC Geotrail. After you find this cache you will understand how it's got name. I would estimate that the log on this cache will hold several thousand names, especially if cachers write on both sides of the log.
To open the cache, the very bottom unscrews. Please don't try to over tighten. Please leave the log in the plastic bag. Thank you.
