Tour of Eureka - Cache in with The Natural State Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

theflyingburritos: A change in signage has caused this tour to no longer work. I couldn't find good replacement waypoints and need to archive it. Thanks to everyone who took the tour and participated in the Cache in with The Natural State program.

Geocache Description:

The above coordinates will lead you to the Eureka Springs Visitor Information Center, which is the location to redeem cache certificates for prizes, but not to the tangible cache. This cache is part of a series in the “Cache in with The Natural State,” program of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. You’ll find unique trade items representing Arkansas tourism attractions in this series of caches. Find more information on the program at www.Arkansas.com.

Tour Eureka Springs and check out the following sites in order to determine the actual coordinates of the physical cache.
Each coordinate below will lead you to a locale to find the digit that you will need to solve this equation:
N 36 24.ABC
W093 44.DEF

A = Fifth digit in the number on the sign. (Take time to tour this site.)
N 36 24.695
W 093 44.160

B = Second digit in the year of restoration.
N 36 24.460
W 093 44.170

C = Last digit on the plaque on the wall.
N 36 24.131
W 093 44.242

D = Locate the carved figurine hidden in the rock wall. How many letters in the general name for this figurine? (Hint: starts with F.)
N 36 23.941
W 093 44.466

E = Last number in the year of construction.
N 36 24.516
W 093 44.264

F = Number of posts at the Gazebo to the north of the statue.
N 36 24.533
W 093 43.505

The final cache is a green ammo box. Please sign the log book, and trade an item for an item. There are numerous goods representing Arkansas and the Ozarks region. Some prizes for trade are gift certificates that must be redeemed at the Eureka Springs Visitor Information Center. These prizes are stocked weekly up to four weeks after the cache is published as available.

The tour will take you through the winding mountainside streets of the historic downtown, past street after street of Victorian architecture, and by block after block of one-of-a-kind shops, boutiques, fine art galleries, craft emporiums, spas, springs and restaurants.

Eureka Springs’ entire downtown area is on the National Register of Historic Places. The National Trust for Historic Preservation, the country's largest private, nonprofit preservation organization, named Eureka Springs one of its Dozen Distinctive Destinations.
