Geocache Description:

A 25-minute hike on a good trail through piñon pine and prickly pear leads to a near 360-degree panorama of West Sedona and the Verde Valley. Perfect venue for a sunset.

Cache is just off the Scheurman Mt. Trail. Park in the lot east of the Sedona High School on Upper Red Rock Loop Rd. [Turn into the third driveway on the right.] The first part of the trail runs along the southeast side of the High School. Trail climbs approximately 370 ft over three-quarters of a mile. Don't leave the trail until you are only 100 - 110 feet from the cache and your bearing pointer points due East.

Cache is hidden among rocks. As of May 2, 2010, cache is in a new gallon jug container, red with a white screw top. Contents include log book and four ball pens with different colored ink. Exchange trinkets: blue stone bracelet, HotWheels Triumph TR6, Lord's prayer bracelet, die (as in one dice), three dinosaurs, red pig, Duracell screwdriver, lavender incense, Geocoin, Hawaiian foot, 1986 paperclip, pink heart bead, and the letter "a."

Plan to arrive half-an-hour before sunset. Bring a picnic. If you stay to watch the stars, bring a flashlight to find your way back.

Three of Sedona's four fabled vortices are visible from the cache site. Report back here the ones you were able to identify.
