Geocache Description:

This is a wonderful example of a small family cemetery, located in the countryside.

Driving around the Wisconsin countryside can reveal many delightful surprises at almost every curve or corner. Among them are old country cemeteries.

These physical history books tell wonderful stories of life and death, from the 1800’s to the present. And they often provide a quiet spot in an otherwise busy life.

Before searching out the cache, spend a few moments browsing about. Ponder the different styles that abound in the older cemeteries. Do you see any 'petrified trees'? A monument made of metal? Notice how the older stone is eroding badly, and many have become unreadable. Any in German, or Polish, or some other language?

Look around for the old water pump. Gaze out over the adjacent fields, and speculate on why this site was chosen.

The cache container is not located in contact with any gravestones, monuments, or other memorials. Please respect the area. Also, take care to replace the cache so that is it not readily visible to the casual passerby.

If any math is involved, and a year, drop the thousand marker before adding or subtracting. So, if the year is 1896, use 896.

And when the cache is a multi, the posted coordinates usually take you to the cemetery, not the first stage. The cache page will give a description (sometimes cryptic!) of what you need to find.

A short note on the naming. The WSQ stands for Wisconsin Spirit Quest. The numbers are based on a system where all caches in the same county are related.
