Geocache Description:

One of the many stone shelters in Harriman State Park.

Built: 1928

Directions to Trailhead: Seven Lakes Road to Silvermine Ski Area.

Directions to Shelter: from Silvermine parking area, follow Menomine (Yellow) Trail , across Seven Lakes Drive for 1.5 miles to the end. Turn right onto Long Path for .1 mile to shelter. (Cave Shelter is .3 mile futher along on right.)

Total miles to Shelter: 1.6 miles (one way)

Water Source Nearby: yes, where Menomine and Long Path meet

Shelter Coords: N41 18.020 W074 04.679

The log book within the shelter warns of Slither, the local pet rattlesnake. I placed the cache away from the area described, but that means next to nothing. Simply put, just be careful and alert.

Cache is within sight of the shelter, so pelase rehide exactly as found, as this shelter is frequently visited.
