This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Take a small mirror to finish this cache. Think of your mirror as your American Express card and don’t leave home without it. Some geocachers may find this cache impossible to complete without the aid of a mirror. You may find pencil and paper helpful.

I must compliment the two mirrorless McGyver minded cachers who visited this cache. One used a credit card and the other used a CD to read the secret message.

I knew there had to be a beautiful York County trail that rivaled those of Lancaster County. The many photo opportunities along Oakland Run prove I was right. You will spend 99% of your time on the blue blazed Mason Dixon Trail. The only time you need to leave the trail is to find part two less than 50‘ from the trail. Allow at least one hour to complete this two part geocache.

Start this cache by parking along McCalls Ferry Rd at

N 39 49.725
W 76 20.640

You can see the Susquehanna River from the parking area.

Begin your hike north along McCalls Ferry Rd for about 300’. Here the blue blazed Mason Dixon Trail leaves the road and continues north along the river. Stay on the blue blazed trail to part one. After you crest a steep hill and are behind a large rock outcropping, look for a 6” diameter dead hemlock tree with 4 blue blaze marks. Part one is about 6 feet from this tree at a bearing of 100 degrees. The coordinates for part two are in the part one film container. Please do not leave the film container exposed.
