This micro cache contains a log book and pencil. The real reason
for finding this cache is the challenging ride (or hike) plus the
incredible view across the valley. We almost always see deer in
this meadow, especially at night.
Starting Points
You can start the hike or mountain bike ride from just below the
Little Reservoir Dam. There is plenty of free parking and even a
bathroom in the nearby day use/ campground.
ATVs cannot pass the closed/locked gate and will need to start
from where the trail crosses Kents Lake Rd. (approx. N 38 15.749 W
112 29.525).
Alternate approaches- Cabin owners can enter the trail higher up
(not far from the cache), but those not familiar with the area may
find it hard to navigate all the unmarked private roads to find
these entrances. You do not have to pass through private cabin
sites to access this cache.
Difficulty by Travel Method
ATV- This would probably be in intermediate ride with
some very steep sections that you will need to be in 4x4.
Mtn. Bike- I would consider this a very strenuous
mountain bike trail. All but the experts might have to walk certain
stretches because it is so steep and uneven. Take caution on the
ride back down.
Hike- Not bad as a hike, although you probably would not
hike this with young children or if you are not in generally good
shape.
