Mississippi River Geocache: Upper Landing Park

Upper Landing Park

Located on Shepard Road and Chestnut, this newly renovated park offers an intimate river setting for visitors looking to get away from the busy city situated on the bluffs above. The park features numerous seating areas along the Mississippi River, a public plaza for gatherings and a connection to the Mississippi River Trail. At the center of these renovations is the St. Paul City House (St. Paul Municipal Grain Terminal), which has been restored and converted into an interpretive center and event venue.

Activities: bicycle/walking trail extends along the entire length of the park. The park also has seating areas and a plaza for gathering. The St. Paul City House offers interpretive signage with an event area that can accommodate 275 guests.

Hours: The park is open from dawn to dusk unless otherwise posted.

Got to the scene and saw all that snow, and thought this was going to be an impossible mission... a micro somewhere in there? But I made it happen, and it really wasn't too painful. Spot-on coordinates sure did help.
Riverboats frozen in for the winter, clouds of white steam rising from the powerplant, and snow glittering in the sun at the beginning of a great day! Thanks for the hide.

2:00pm - #2112 - I had an appointment across the river at Ramsey CVSO, and decided to snag a few caches in/near downtown before the next storm makes caching nearly impossible. It's refreshing to see the NPS hiding caches! This one didn't give me too much trouble. TNLN, thanks for the cache. - 15Tango

Thought I might have a little trouble with this one as I approached GZ. Was pleasantly surprised to find this one a bit on the winter friendly side. TFTC. SL.

We parked in a tow-away zone and left KSpud to protect the car. Da Bloodhound and I headed out to make the find for the group. This is definately not for the dainty as previously stated. What little varmit lurks in there? None today ~ thankfully! SL, rehid. TFTC! Great location!!!
