This cache is similar to Hilbre View, but based in Lower Heswall, right on the edge of the Dee Estuary. To get to the cache, you will need to make a short (10-min) walk along the beach.
Park in the public (free) carpark at the bottom of Banks Road (N53"19.508' W003"07.222').
PLEASE ONLY PARK HERE! - Don't park in any of the surrounding small roads or lanes as many of these lanes are private.
Walk down towards the Beach then turn right/north, obviously. You'll pass 'Sheldrakes' which is a quirky Spanish-type Bar/Restaurant. Maybe not so much a family place but worth checking out. Click here for details.
Walk along the beach till you hit the spot. Please be advised that a little mild scrambling is required to reach the site. Also, the approach is sandy/soggy in places so wellies or boots are a good idea. If you're like me you'll have fun climbing all over the rocks. Watch your footing! Please also take care not to drop your keys, camera, GPS, etc. down into the rocks (or the cache for that matter!) as you will NEVER see them again!
If you're into birdwatching, I believe there are lots of interesting sights to see here, as there are right along the Dee Estuary. I'm not into birdwatching (not that type anyway) but I think there are some good bits of info here if you're interested.
The cache isn't huge so don't take anything too big to put in.
If you don't want to walk back the same way, carry on northwards until you come to the end of the boulders, and come back on yourself up a path that runs behind the boulders. The lanes will zig-zag back to the top of Banks road, it's just a bit further than walking back along the beach.
Happy hunting!
