Low elevation cache - well-hidden. Rehide just as well. Bit of bushwacking - mark where you leave the trail. In fall/winter parking will be farther away - about .43 miles away. Summer you can get much closer. Cache is in St. Malo Provincial Park, bring pass. Kids can do it - our youngest is five and helped in the hide. But cover up or you'll get scratched.
Once upon a time…there was a PIRATE. Alas, he lived in Southern Manitoba. All his life, he worked in what he considered mundane jobs: various factories, processing plants and retail stores. When the North Winds howled this poor pirate secretly dreamt of sailing the far seas. What a life it would be…seeing the Southern Cross on a warm mellow night, rather than shivering while gazing at the North Star. He’d find buried treasure on deserted islands, strike fear in the hearts of exotic women in foreign ports, and he could just picture himself singing, “YO HO HO AND A BOTTLE OF RUM…” while his cutlass gleamed in the sun. In reality, he lived a fairly dull life, but then he discovered geocaching, and a true prairie pirate he became. Finding treasure behind every bush, in every small nook and cranny of every tree. Every park seemed like a new continent waiting to be discovered. And then - suddenly…he disappeared - hiding his first geocache ever.
Take the co-ordinates, carefully measure
And follow the red-yellow path
For when you find his treasure
You’ll find he had the last laugh.
Please keep cache a mystery for others. Spoiler images may cause cache log to be deleted. Other humorous verbal references are allowed. If you spot the pirate -leave him be.
Am including pic of map for young families. Heavy bush cover means tricky satellite reception. We did 15 readings from various angles to get it right with most in very close agreement.
