[ITA] La chiesa di Santo Stefano alle Trane è un edificio sacro che si trova in località Magazzini a Portoferraio. La chiesa, pertinente allo scomparso insediamento delle Trane, si avvicina per struttura e apparato decorativo all'architettura romanica pisana. La facciata è spartita in basso da arcate cieche su paraste e conclusa da un timpano sottolineato da cornici. La decorazione, che segue schemi neoantichi sul fianco, riprende invece repertori estranei alla cultura pisana nell'abside, decorata da archetti pensili sui cui peducci compaiono motivi zoomorfi e protomi. Restaurata dopo anni di rovina, è nuovamente officiata.
La cache e' un contenitore per alimenti.
[ENG] The church of Santo Stefano alle Trane is located in Magazzini near Portoferraio. The church, originally belonging to the settlement of Trane, now lost, is close, for structure and decorative style, to the Pisan Romanesque architecture. The façade is divided at the bottom by blind arches and pillars ending in a pediment highlighted by frames. The building originates from the second half of XII century and presents a particularly beautiful decoration of the internal walls with rich ornamental art in the colours white and ivory (petals, eagles, horses, headings of mytical creatures). Restored after years in ruins.
The cache is a small food container.
