SYMPÓZIUM / SYMPOSIUM

Skrýša sa nachádza v areáli bývalého ružbašského travertínového lomu. Od roku 1964 sa tam pravidelne stretávali sochári a priamo v prírode tvorili svoje diela. V počiatkoch sa Ružbašských sympózií zúčastnili umelci medzinárodného formátu, ako napr. Karl Prantl, Herbert Baumann, Yasuo Mizui, Morice Lipsi, Hiromi Akiyama a mnohí ďalší.
Z českých autorov to boli napr. Zdeněk Palcr a Zbyněk Sekal a, samozrejme, zakladatelia sympózia, Rudolf Uher a Andrej Rudavský. V priebehu dvoch desaťročí tak v kameňolome vznikla unikátna galéria sôch, v ktorej dnes môžeme obdivovať 104 kamenných plastík.
Medzinárodné sochárske sympózium vo Vyšných Ružbachoch je druhé najstaršie sympózium v strednej Európe. V roku 1997 bol areál Medzinárodného sochárskeho sympózia vyhlásený za kultúrnu pamiatku.

The cache is hidden in the area of a former tufaceous breakage near the village of Vysne Ruzbachy. Since 1964 the sculptors have met there reguralry to create their works of art. In the early times of Symposium of Vysne Ruzbachy significant artists of international reputation as Karl Prantl, Herbert Baumann, Yasuo Mizui, Morice Lipsi, Hiromi Akiyama and many others took part in it.
The sculptures of Zdenek Palcr and Zbynek Sekal also the plastic arts of symposium’s founders - Rudolf Uher and Andrej Rudavsky - represent the masterpieces of the symposium. Nowadays, this unique gallery contains 104 interesting works of art.
International sculptural symposium in Vysne Ruzbachy is the second oldest symposium in center-european region. In 1997 the area of symposium was proclaimed Slovak cultural heritage.
