Target # 50 - Goodbye, Joefrog I can't believe it's coming
to an end... I've had lots of fun running this cache. Special
thanks to Motorbug for the opportunity to adopt it from him, and
thanks to everyone for helping me enjoy it! I've laughed with you
all and gotten to know many and more of you off-list. There have
been a lot of changes for me while running this cache, and I was
very thankful for the friendship and variety this cache offered me.
You've kept my spirits up during some very hard times, and I'll
miss that. This hobby has truly changed my life, and introduced me
to people I will treasure the rest of my life.
The target for #50 WAS going to be "Love Incarnate, Love In
Action," where you find something that embodies LOVE and happiness.
It could be anything at all -- a baby crying, a wedding, a family
portrait at your Christmas tree. If you want to show me what love
is to you, do it! But instead, for this target you're going to have
to do a few things... anything more is up to you.
First, take a pic of yourself (and your family, if you can)
with a sign that says "Goodbye Joefrog!" Be creative with the
location and the sign. Make me laugh, show me things you want me to
see, and for everyone else to remember. As always, at least two
pics are required.
Second, I want you to tell me a story... what was your
favorite target, and why? Your favorite Dash memory? Tell me!
I'd love to know that your life was improved as mine has been.
Finally... say goodbye. Lie to me and tell me you'll miss
me! Remember to stay in touch, folks... it's been lots of fun.

Target # 39 - Life Imitates Art Imitates Life I've seen
these statues around for ages -- now YOU have to find one! For this
target, you must find a permanent statue of a person, where the
statue is "imitating life!" A statue sitting playing checkers,
sitting on a bench beside you, skating statues, fishing statues...
hopefully you get the idea. But here is the catch... you have to
be in the photo, posed the same way as the statue! If the
statue is playing checkers, you should be playing checkers in front
of it. If the statue is a ballerina, you should be on tippy-toe
beside it! All statues must be sidewalk or ground level -- no
climbing! It must be permanent (no yard art) and publicly
accessible. Please try to tell about WHY the monument is placed
where it is. Yard ornaments and non-permanent
items will be deleted without notice, as will attempts at abusing
the target's wording trying to find a loophole. If you have any
doubt about the find, ASK! AT LEAST TWO PHOTOS ARE
REQUIRED, AS ALWAYS. One photo must include your GPS.

This is not added criteria -- only clarification for what is
expected. The object of this target is not simply to find statues
of people, but to find an accessible statue that seems to
"interact" with the public.
You also have to pose in the same way as the sculpture! A recent
log by "chelemybell" and "Capt Biggins" are perfect examples. See
the photo next to the target description for yet another
example.

THE RULES: Please read them!
1. Format your log with the Target # prominently at the top, and
include city and state or other descriptive information.
2. Pictures including your GPSr must be uploaded at time of
logging. If text is in the photo please type it in the description
box if there is any doubt about its legibility. Logs with pictures from a vehicle only will be
deleted!
3. All objects and/or locations that fit the target description
must be located in an outside public area.
4. Each numbered target can be logged only once per cacher/team.
Double logs with another locationless cache are not allowed.
5. Targets will generally expire at midnight on a specific date or
as otherwise announced. No late logs
accepted, except by PRIOR email approval. No
backdating allowed. Date your log the date you log it, not the date
you found it if the dates are different. The date/time stamp on the
GroundSpeak owner notification to me of your log is the "official"
time.
6. Read the individual target information to note any special
requirements or rule waivers. Non-complying logs will be deleted
without notification.

office over 75 years old and is either still a post office or has a

Target # 15 - 60 hour dash!: Log a 60, not sixty, 160 or
606. Any 60 is eligible-- street sign, house address, etc. Expired
8:00 AM PDT 5/1/04.
Target # 14 - Ring your Historic Bell: Find a historic bell
that does not belong at another cache. Everyday "working" bells are
not eligible. Must have a historical significance. Expired

Target # 13 - Lucky 13 - Log a photo of the number 13. The
number must be 13, not a number with 13 in it, or thirteen. No
calculator or computer displays, calendar pages, house or building
numbers, street signs, freeway signs or similar allowed. Expired

Target # 12 - National Arbor Day: Log a photo of an Arbor
Day event or something directly connected to Arbor Day like a Tree
City, USA sign. Other countries, a photo of a sign or activity will
be accepted, just fully explain it so that we all will know about

Target # 11 - An identifying sign of a college or
university, public or private: Take a photograph with your GPSr in
front of any public or private institution of higher learning. Also
required are two facts about your school-- when it was established
and what is the current enrollment. geometeacher got the FTF.

Target # 10 - Windmills of the World - Log a real windmill,
a non 4-bladed one. WeBeDnD got the FTF. Expired 4/18/04.
Target # 9 - Clock Tower - An analog clock on the tower
portion of a building that is primarily for display of the clock on
the upper part of a building. No motels, shopping centers or chain
commercial buildings. I am looking for clocks at colleges or
universities, government buildings, train stations, or similar
installations. Yorky Lovers got the FTF. Expired 4/11/04.
Target # 8 - St. Patrick's Day - photo at: (1) a sculpture
of St. Patrick; (2) a St. Patrick Day; or (3) kissin' the Blarney
Stone, or a replica. Bonus: a photo that shows you at some public

Target # 7 - Leap Year Day - photo by an outdoor statue
(bust acceptable) of Emperor Julius Caesar, Emperor Caesar
Augustus, or Pope Gregory XII. Bonus: recreate a marriage proposal

Target # 6 - Full-bodied statue of a religious or spiritual
person: Please provide a second picture of the name or plaque for
the statue, if it has one. Identify the statue. Kootenay Pirates

Target # 5 - Wagon or carriage (horse drawn) with wooden
wheels (spoke or solid): Give us some history about the wagon or
carriage and the number of horses used to pull it if you can. No
inside museum displays, please. baja clan got the FTF. Expired

Target # 4 - First to Find - photo of a sign, etc,"First" in
it (not 1st). Street signs are ineligible (First St., Ave, Blvd,
etc.) as well as banking, savings, or loan (or loan shark-- or
similar) businesses (First National, Republic, State, etc.).
