Geocache Description:

I've long wanted to do a series of caches highlighting some of NJ's many Revolutionary War related sites. George Washington spent the night here in 1780 while his army camped in a nearby field. What is now Route 202 was the major route between the Hudson Valley and Philadelphia in the 1700's.

This is an offset cache. The actual container is a short distance away as there are not many good places to hide a cache nearby.

The only parking is in a small pull out across the street from the house.

To obtain the coordinates of the cache, read the sign at the posted coordinates.

Replace the letters below with the numbers in the date that the French and American armies camped there:

August __ __, 178__

Key: August AB, 178C

Replace the letters below with the number corresponding to the letter in the above key:

N40.55.CC5 W74.AC.CCB

The coordinates are:

N40.55. __ __ 5 W74.__ __. __ __ __
