The outlier hill Kostanjevica near Bevke is the only preserved peat-and-moss bog of the Ljubljana Marshes and is protected as a natural reserve called Mali plac. Its location is rather unusual because its lies on a wooded mound, has an elliptic shape and is raised some ten metres above the level of the surrounding Marshes. It covers an area of only two hectares. Mali plac is the habitat of at least eleven characteristic and endangered marsh species; among them are the insectivorous sundew, sheathed sedge, marsh rosemary, mosses, bladderwort, marsh orchids and violets.The cache is a small plastic container with log and small pencil.And please look and listen around. Lots of different animals live here!!!
