The "Tank Farm" as it is known locally is an abandoned fuel depot, now renamed George Mitchell Field. It has paved and dirt trails, a view of the bay, and it is fenced in. Dogs and bicycles are permitted. It is accessed from Rt. 123 in Harpswell. The fuel storage tanks are gone now. A tall water tank remains.
The cache is a standard .30 cal. ammo box. Contains the usual log book and geocache letter as well as a pencil with sharpener. (11/12/05: We replaced the log book with a new one. 6/22/08 we replaced the rubbermaid that had leaked with an ammo box, new log book, and new stuff.)
9/15/13: we visited the cache to perform maintenance. It was in good condition. We added a pencil, and we took the TB to move to another cache.
