Floating down through the clouds
Memories come rushing up to meet me now
In the space between the heavens
And in the corner of some foreign field
I had a dream...
Welcome to The Final Cut

Those who complete this cache will be rewarded with spectacular views along the coast from a vantage point few know exist, let alone visit.
The route in can be a bit nerve wracking, but those accustomed to a bit of rock hopping should have no problems, just mind your head in places.
Geo-kiddies are definately best left at home, as are geo-pets.
The cache container itself is a bit unusual to say the least, but if you see something that looks out of place you can be assured it is probably it.
The cache originally consisted of;

  • A Big Spider
  • A Moonmobile
  • A Nice Fossil
  • Ground Effect Catalog
  • A Bug
  • A Weird Pen
  • Chaos Cash

Have fun (and be careful) with The Final Cut

Well this was an amazing cache once we found, a little made up information that we thought excisted put us in the wrong place. After messing about i suggested a different tack and after consulting previous logs we found the start of our decent down. Down through the gully and towards the water. Lots of smashed cars, a small cusion and the remains of a fire. WOW what a facinating place. Both redbackspider and my self stood at the water edges and a feeling of success over come us as we thought "He look we missed the ladder of death and found an eaiser way". After our ticking brains proceesed this ridiculas thought we looked up and saw that we had not missed it but rather had to go up it insteed of the down we first thought. Redbackspider lead the way quickly followed by me. Along the rope kindly put there, and after inspection i had my sucpictions it was put there by climbers. (Maybe there is climbing around here??) The view wass spectacular along the rope, an amazing walk with waves crashing on rocks and the black rock creating amazing patterns in front of us. Oh and a white building of into the distance (private joke). We came to ground zero and looked around as sadly saw foot prints heading up to an unusal spot. Following them we found the cache tugged away. Redbackspider gave it a wack, scratch his head, gave it a twist, gave it a wack and presto we were in. We did our bussniess and i noticed that someone put a climbing guide for the area..... (hmmm a new place to climb for me!!) WE dusted our prints and headed of, along the shelf and back to the ladder of death, down we went, and up the gully, back to the van. What an amzing spot for a cache!!! Oh and that ladder of death doesn't even touch the ground on one side..... How amussing i thought. TNSLLN Thanks so much for a fun adventure and a great location.

478 - 3 for today. Found on 20/12/2009 at 2:59 PM.
With Lost Gecko. Another one where we spent a long time looking for the access point. Once located the adventure started. Down the gully, then around the corner the 'ladder of death' loomed in front of us. You want me to go up there? That was scary, then the walk along the skinny ledge. As we were getting closer to GZ, the view was spectacular. Cache located easily, a bugger to open, but with a bit of force the contents revealed itself. SLTNLN. Cache returned, and now back to the 'ladder' and back to the van. Thanks for the scary adventure.

Wow.This Cache was awesome. The Final Cut has always been one of my favourite albums, so I had to do this one and I am so glad I did. Firstly,, I had to use the hint to find entry, and still I was a doofus times twofus. 50 metres south looking, 50 metres north, nope. 100 metres south looking, 100 metres north, nope, 200 meters south, etc, etc... til finally, jackpot. Sadly wrong jackpot, so sat glumly, admiring the view until I saw....the ladder!! I scurried off cursing at my GPS for being so wrong (I was certain that the cache was at the top of the ladder) and after the obligatory rock hopping, I made it to (insert dramatic fanfare) THE LADDER!!
After 3 rungs I thought stuff this, I'm close enough, I'll just log it as a Did Not Find. So, standing there, with no reason to feel less manly about myself, I started to fell less manly. I dropped the backpack, and ascended, Woohoo!! Then "Woohoo"! suddenly turned into "Oh no"! If I was scared already, this is were I became terrified! View? What view? All I was looking at was rock. Sweet beautiful rock. Singing my happy song, I made it to the next 'rock-a-long' I felt like a Ledge-end (pun intended). Then scramble, scramble and zeroed in, I found the cache. Hoooray. Hooray with dread, I knew I had to reverse, but first things first, the Cache. Unique, but unfortunately I couldn't open it, it was harder than a Rubiks Cube blind-folded for me. What to do? I wasn't going to let this go by. After 20 minutes of trying, all I could do in the end was scratch my initials, MK for Mekanikel, on the side of the container. Sorry, but it was all I could do, I really did try. Then I remembered I had Geo-camera in my pocket, so took a picture at GZ for proof as well. Restocked on adrenaline, I made the journey back. Adrenaline is awesome, helps let you know your alive!. This is the best cache, and certainly lets you know why Geocahing is an adventure sport. Thanks so much for this one, it was a triumph!
