Geocache Description:

Follow the trail of the the Black Hawk War.

August 2 1832 twenty
picked Sacs were station-
ed here to decoy the US
Army northward and per-
mit the Indian main body
with women and children
to escape across the riv-
er. Fourteen of the out-
post were shot here wh-
ile trying to surrender.
In 1846 LeGrand Sterling
found twelve human skel-
etons near here.

The above is what is inscribed on the stone marker at the location of BlackHawks outpost.  This is one of several markers in the area that were placed in the 1930s as a tribute and to preserve the living history of one of the nations darker moments in time.

You are searching for a small matchstick holder that has been placed.  This cache is not so much about the find.  The cache is meant to allow people to be in a place that set the course of history in our area.  Please search for the cache only during day light hours.  There is a home near this marker.  Stealth is always a good thing.  Please rehide as found.
