Geocache Description:

Tupperware container wrapped in black plastic. 13.5 Mile round trip. North of Mt Si.

Start early. Its a nice gated road with water(the first half), a pretty forest and a nice view from the top. Road is free of avalanche hazards, although sometimes near by gullys can avalanche. Stay out of the gullys and on the road.
Directions: Go to my Mid Fork Valley overlook geocache (click nearby caches on this page, down next to the map), then continue on another 2-1/2 more miles to the top of little Mt. Bassemer, (it actually doesn’t have a name, but is just SSW of the real Mt. Bassemer at the end of the road). When in doubt, follow the steepest road. From the top you can see, Seattle, Tacoma, the Olympic range, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker, Mt Adams, Mt Garfield and a hundred other peaks. Plus the view of Snoqualmie and Pratt Valleys is awesome. Their over 4000 feet below!
Original contents were:
Compass
Pocket Pliers
Talking Simpsons Watch (Family Drive)
Hot Wheels poker cards
Rain-X
Glow Stick
Update: Aug 6 2003. A contractor working for Earth Corps has just compleated converting some old roads here into hiking/Mt.Biking trails. The road to the cache is now in great shape (except the last mile, sane people may wish to stash their bikes and hike the last mile).
For a little more fun, after finding geocache, decend back to the saddle at about 4000ft (where you stashed your bike)and follow the contractors road a couple hundred yards up and south to a large cleared area. Find the new Mt Bike trail at the clearings East edge. Follow this trail(4.5 star rating)about 2 miles downhill to a nice road which will lead you back (1.7mi)to the Mid Fork Overlook cache
Update, 12-21-05: Lots of snow, even at the parking area. This would be a very long snow shoe now.
