2008 Summer Event
Elk Neck State Park
The Maryland Geocaching Society invites everyone to join
us on Saturday, July 26 at 10:00 am for the MGS 2008 summer
event.
We would like to invite everyone who has an interest in the game of
geocaching to come and join in. You do not have to be a member of
the MGS to attend. No matter if you have 10 or 10,000 finds,
everyone is welcome! New to the game? New to the area? Visiting
from out of town? Feel free to join us!
THE DAM TROLLS have graciously agreed to serve as our host for this
years event and they are planning several new caches. The picnic
will be held at pavilion #1 in the Northeast River area. The
pavilion is located near the beach and has electric, grills, plenty
of picnic tables, with restroom facilities and a play ground
nearby.
The MGS officers will present our annual caching awards at 2:00 pm
followed by door prizes and general announcements. Be sure to visit
the MGS site at www.mdgps.org for more information.
As many of you have learned through Cache Across Maryland, Elk Neck
is a beautiful park with a ton of great facilities. The parks
offers many types of camping including full hook-ups for RV's on
the NE loop, or electric only on the Chester loop, and a variety of
cabins. Camping reservations fill up quickly so I would suggest you
make your reservations as soon as possible.

Please bring a dish to share (post a "Will Attend" log if you are
planning to come, along with the dish you plan to bring.) Pets are
welcome in certain areas within the park. Please refer to the park
web site for complete details. The event will be held rain or
shine!
