We will kick off the weekend on Friday evening April 24-26, 2015 at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park with registration beginning at approximately 5:30 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. CDT in the main lobby at Lure Lodge, and ending the event at 12 noon on Sunday April 26, 2015. We will have a brief meet and greet at 8:00 pm CST in the Private Dining Room immediately after registration.
Caching will commence promptly at 8:00 a.m. CDT both Saturday and Sunday morning at Lake Cumberland S.R.P. and will end at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. We will meet briefly each morning to disseminate coordinates and your cache packet. In order to possibly download the coordinates, please do not forget to bring your USB cord with you, otherwise you will have to do it manually.
***** Travel bugs and coins welcomed if you want to bring them or drop them for others to discover or move.
There will be 30-40 caches on Saturday and 10 on Sunday. There will be a variety of caches from the basic tradtional caches to devious "thinker" caches. Be prepared for a "TWIST"!!!!! Cache difficulty ranges from 1-5.....Terrain levels are in an average range but the fact that many will be on park trails is why the difficulty level is 3.5 stars. Caches are placed close to trails which make them easily accessible. Caution should be exercised when walking on any trail. Also there will be numerous caches placed at short walking distance from parking. There will be several FTF prizes. Lunch will be provided on Saturday by the park.
More event information will be disseminated during the meet and greet on Friday evening after registration. Mark your calendars now for April 24, 2015 and join the fun!
Registration is $30 per couple, $20 per individual, and $10 for children 12 & under. Pr-registration for the event is not required, but is greatly appreciated. It helps us with planning and preparation for the event more effectively.
There will be camping, cottages, or lodge rooms available. Camping will be buy one night get the second night free! There are a limited number of rooms set aside for the event and they will be on a first come first serve basis. If you want to reserve a room at the special event rate, ask for the Lure Lodge Geocache Weekend block special event rate, 1-800-325-1709. Once those rooms are rented there will be a limited amount of regular rate room and cabins left to rent. You are not required to stay on the park to attend the event.
We will have event T-shirts but you must pre-register by April 9, 2015 and include your shirt sizes and the amount you want. We will have a limited amount of extra event T-shirts on first come first served basis. The cost of the T-shirts is $13 each for sizes S,M,L, and XL and $15 for 2x, 3x shirts.
