Geocache Description:

This cache is near the summit of Seven Mile Mountain.

The approach I took to the cache was to exit the highway 238 at mile marker 35 and take the powerline road. The powerline road does have a few rough spots, so 4WD is recommended. This approach also allows you to avoid entering the tribal lands to the East.

My hike was about 3.5 miles round trip with 1,500 ft elevation gain. There is no defined trail, but I ended up picking one of the ridgelines and followed it all the way up to the summit. There is also a seldom signed summit log nearby. The cache is an ammo box located about 60ft from the actual summit.

**Caution - On my visit I did wake a rattlesnake that was taking a siesta among the stacked rocks marking the summit. As soon as I rested my hand on one of the rocks to reach down for the glass jar holding the summit log, he started buzzing. That really got my heart pumping!

Remember this is the desert:
1. Bring more water than you think you'll need.
2. Wear sturdy, ankle-supporting footwear.
3. Tell someone where you will be going, and when you plan to return home. Then stick to your plan.
4. Beware prickly plants and desert critters.
