Park at the Suffield end (north End) of the Windsor Locks Canal at the end of Canal Road. Terrain rating is 1.5 most of the way, rating is 3 for the last 20 feet. Slippery when wet rocks and leaves at cache area.
An old gravel dam that has been breached in some areas. May have been built to send water into the canal. Dam at one time had boards across it to raise the water level upriver. In the recent past, people upriver want 3 feet of boards put back to raise the water level in Springfield and further north for recreation use. The owner of the dam has no incentives to spend the kind of money that would be needed. Cache container is a 2.5 X 5 X 5 lock and lock.
