Geocache Description:

This is the third in the five-part trilogy dedicated to Douglas Adams’ classic “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. Our heroes continue their adventures and attempt to learn what the Ultimate Question is to the Ultimate Answer (which is, of course, 42), and stop the Universe from going 'foom'. Again.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy has this to say on the subject of flying:

“There is an art, or rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in the learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. Pick a nice day and try it.

“The first part is easy. All it requires is simply the ability to throw yourself forward with all your weight, and the willingness not to mind that it’s going to hurt.

“That is, it’s going to hurt if you fail to miss the ground.

“Most people fail to miss the ground, and if they are really trying properly, the likelihood is that they will fail to miss it fairly hard. Clearly it’s the second part, the missing, which presents the difficulties.”

Now, once you have managed to miss the ground, the Guide advises:

“Do not listen to what anybody says to you at this point because they are unlikely to say anything helpful. They are most likely to say something along the lines of, “Good God, you can’t possibly be flying!”

“It is vitally important not to believe them or they will suddenly be right.”

Seeking this cache will be distinctly easier than trying to distractedly miss the ground.

Muggle activity in this park is high, but at certain times, particularly outside of sports season, or early in the morning, the park is nice and quiet (the traffic that surrounds the park, on the other hand, is not so). The cache is well out of view of muggles, so that should not pose a problem. From the nearby benches you can sit and reflect, if you have the time and inclination, on life, the universe, and everything.

While in this park, if you have not yet done so, there are five other caches you can do while walking the circuit loop around. You should be able to pick most, if not all, of them off in an hour. Don’t forget to WEAR YOUR BOOTS for one of them.

The cache is a small, plastic NON-waterproof container. Please take care when removing and replacing the log and ziplock bag. Thanks. And be sure to rehide the container as you found it.

Note: as per the other caches of this series, there is a word in the lid of the container that you will need in order to find the fifth part of the trilogy. Be sure to copy it down! You do not need to have to have read the series in order to do these caches, but it will help in your understanding of the 'code' word and the above description, not to mention some peoples log entries. :-)
