This cache is hidden on the Lowell Preserve Trail in Windham. The trailhead is located at the East Windham Fire Station on Falmouth Road. The trail starts out as a shared trail for motorized vehicles and hikers but then is designated as hikers by a turn only a short distance from the trailhead. The trail is managed by the Windham Parks and Recreation Department.
It is a short hike to our medium-sized, traditional cache (about 0.6 miles). There are some random stumps on the trail so hikers should keep an eye out not to hit (and trip) on one.

Directions to Trailhead:
From Portland, take Route 302 just past the Westbrook city limits. Look out for a redemption center (on left) and Albion Road. Take a Right onto Albion Road. Follow Albion Road until it ends. Take Right onto Falmouth Road. The East Windham Fire Station is 0.6 miles on the Left. Pull into the parking lot in front of the playground. The trailhead is located behind the Fire Station building (on the left side).

There's a playground with slides and swings for some extra fun for the kids at the trailhead. Animals are welcome on the trail.

Coordinates:
N 43* 47.789 W 070* 21.400

The initial cache contains pens, keychains and a few small toys.

We did the Blue trail and found it the nicest loop of the many trails we checked out. Very little erosion and pretty well marked. The hint was a big help and it was an easy grab. TFTC!

My 5 year old daughter found this. The time of day gave the sunlight a ray through the cover that almost brightened the area so it was easy to find. Great and easy after a small (do-able) walk for kids. The treasure was worth it, left some of our "signature" coins. Playground was a good end to the search.

[ This was my first geocacheing experience and I am so thrilled to have done it with my sister. The Hike was just right for me. I loved being able to follow the map. I didn't have my GPS unit that day so that tells you that the map was quite accurate! We found it!!]
