Though I've lived just a few miles from this park for years now, I
was just recently introduced to it while doing a great puzzle cache
that led me here. After looking at a map of the trail I decided
this park could use another cache. A map of the park can be found
here:
http://www.accessfayetteville.org/government/parks_and_recreation/trails_and_greenways/finger_park_trail.cfm
This geocache is placed just under 100 feet from part of the
Finger Park "trail". I say trail in quotations because the farther
back you go the less defined and maintained the path actually is. I
frequently got off trail and bushwacked my way through the majority
of it.
The hike to the cache is mostly uphill and can be marginally
steep at parts. Cache is hidden along a row of large rocks so be
careful. You'll be looking for an ammo can.
Original contents include: log book, AR souvenir spoon, small
toy water gun, and a Stewie Griffin Victory magnet for FTF
prize.
Note: I did pass over an old downed fence half-way between the
trail and GZ, but the maps show it's still within the park
lines.
Btw, an extra Kudos (kind of like a verbal pat on the back) will
go to anyone who finds the cache before Mobius_Trip. :-)
