Geocache Description:

Take a walk around Garbage Isle. Please CITO if neccessary ;)

Don't worry it's not a trash covered island, but it once was. This area used to be a trash dump, but in 1968, the Hackensack Meadowlands Development Commission was created to reclaim key wildlife habitats. This site has been completely transformed back into wetlands. It's now a unique oasis in the middle of a very urban area... Visit the link above for more information on the transformation of this park.

250 species of birds have been spotten in the DeKorte Park and 60 species nest here so don't forget your camera!

This cache is a smallish lock-n-lock under a rock. It's close to the path so please watch for muggles. The hint is pretty specific to minimize search time in the presence of muggles.

When you enter, tell the guard you're here to visit the park. There are a couple of parking lots, just avoid the spots that say "reserved". Dogs are allowed, but they must be leashed.

I hope you enjoy this gem of a park as much as I have.
