Logbuch des Captains, Captain Murmel, Sternzeit 22108.8 Die
U.S.S. Edelweiss befindet sich im Orbit eines unbekannten bewohnten
Planeten der Klasse M. Scheinbar handelt es sich bei den Bewohnern
um eine primitive Kultur von Humanoiden, die immer noch Kriege
führen und im Atomzeitalter steckengeblieben sind.
Nachdem wir einige Stunden etwas an Funkverkehr dieses Planeten
abgehört haben, haben wir bereits ein Aussenteam zusammengestellt,
um letzteren dennoch genauer zu untersuchen und mehr über diese
Kultur, die scheinbar „Muggels“ genannt wird, zu erfahren.
Bevor das Aussenteam auf den Planeten beamte, habe ich ihnen
nochmals eingeschärft, wie wichtig es ist, unerkannt zu bleiben, da
unsere oberste Direktive uns verbietet, in die Entwicklung
primitiverer Kulturen einzugreifen, solange sie noch nicht über
moderne Raumschifftechnologie verfügen. Außerdem sollen sie uns
sämtliche Textinformationen nach
Sternenflotten-Sigma-Sigma-Alpha-Standardcode übermitteln (die
Buchstaben eines Wortes werden nach dem Schema A=1, B=2...
umgewandelt, diese Zahlen summiert - von dieser Summe wird die
Quersumme der Quersumme gebildet, zB "ENTERPRISE" ergibt
5+14+20+5+18+16+18+9+19+5=129, QS(129)=12, QS(12)=3), denn man kann
nie vorsichtig genug sein.
Wir haben das Aussenteam als Muggels getarnt losgeschickt, ihre
Tricorder können sie problemlos verwenden, da wir diese als etwas,
was die Muggels „GPS“ nennen, getarnt haben. Über versteckte
Kommunikatoren werden wir während der Mission mit dem Team in
Kontakt bleiben können und über Sender einen Teil dessen sehen, was
sie sehen, wenn auch nur sehr unscharf, weswegen wir uns auf die
Berichte des Teams verlassen müssen.
„Außenteam, hören Sie mich? Ihr Captain spricht! Wir haben Sie an
den Anfang einer längeren Verbindung gebeamt. Wir registrieren hier
viele Lebenszeichen, der Ort scheint eine besondere Wichtigkeit für
die Muggels zu besitzen. Wir denken, sie nennen ihn
„Mariahilferstrasse“. Sehen Sie sich diese Straße einmal genauer
an, vielleicht finden wir so mehr über verschiedene Aspekte des
Planeten und seine Bewohner heraus.“
1: Geologische Zusammensetzung
„Bei N 48° 12.129 E 016° 21.642 melden unsere Sensoren eine
Unregelmäßigkeit in der Stoffdichte des Baumaterials im Vergleich
zum Umfeld. Finden Sie heraus, wie die Muggels das Material dieses
Gebildes nennen, unsere Geologen wollen es später noch genauer
analysieren (die Herkunft ist übrigens egal). Nachdem Sie uns die
Bezeichnung mittels Sigma-Sigma-Alpha Code verschlüsselt (A)
übermittelt haben, gehen Sie weiter die Mariahilferstrasse
entlang.“
2: Religion
„Ich sehe, Sie sind bereits bei N 48° 12.031 E 016° 21.371
angekommen? Wir nehmen an, das, was Sie hier sehen, ist einer der
primitiven Tempel dieser Kultur. Es wäre zu gefährlich für Sie, ihn
zu betreten, aber versuchen wir doch, über die Verzierungen mehr
über den Glauben dieser Leute herauszufinden. Das Auge, das da oben
aus der goldenen geometrischen Form aus den Lichtstrahlen
herausblickt, sieht interessant aus, wie viele Kanten hat denn
diese Form? (B)“
3: Kultur
„Außenteam? Sind Sie schon bei N 48° 11.959 E 016° 21.167
angekommen? Dies scheint wieder ein Tempel zu sein, doch die Statue
davor zeigt nicht die Charakteristika einer religiösen Ikone. Gehen
wir einmal davon aus, dass der erste Teil der Bezeichnung der
Person wichtiger ist - schicken Sie ihn uns codiert (C), damit wir
später weitere Nachforschungen anstellen können.“
4: Wirtschaft
„Interessant, vielleicht ist dieser Ort doch keine religiöse
Kultstätte, wie wir anfangs vermutet hatten. Die Muggels scheinen
hier Kleidung und Gebrauchsgegenstände zu erhalten. Wahrscheinlich
hat diese Kultur den Kapitalismus noch nicht überwunden – Sie sind
wohl auf etwas wie einem Basar gelandet! Da scheint ein etwas
größeres Schild zu sein, bei N 48° 11.898 E 016° 21.013
können Sie es bereits sehen. Es sieht aus, als stünde da eine Zahl
(DD). Was diese wohl für eine Bedeutung haben mag?“
5: Technologie
„Unsere Scanner haben bei N 48° 11.801 E 016° 20.657
elektromagnetische Wellen entdeckt, vielleicht handelt es sich um
eine Art Kommunikationsstation? Diese wäre doch recht groß, die
Technologie dieser Kultur kann nicht ganz so primitiv sein.
Möglicherweise sind es also auch einfach nur mehrere
aneinandergereihte Kommunikationszellen. Wie viele davon stehen
hier nebeneinander? (E)“
6: Ärger
„Oh nein, Außenteam, hören Sie mich noch? Es besteht äußerste
Gefahr, ich wiederhole, es besteht äußerste Gefahr! Unsere Sensoren
haben registriert, dass sich um die Gegend eine Art Schutzschild
gebildet hat! Es ist unmöglich, durch diesen Schild
hindurchzubeamen! Scheinbar gibt es auf diesem Planeten doch etwas,
das nicht ganz so primitiv ist, wie wir dachten!“
„Das kann doch nicht sein! Wir registrieren extraterrestrische
Lebenszeichen, das sind keine Muggels, soviel steht fest, und sie
bewegen sich mit rasanter Geschwindigkeit von da, wo Sie herkamen,
auf Sie zu! Folgen Sie schnell weiter der Straße, wir müssen Sie da
rauskriegen, bevor die Lebewesen Sie erreichen!“
„Zum Glück haben wir einen Notfallplan! Wir haben ein verstecktes
Computerterminal in Form einer Sonde präpariert. Geben Sie Ihre
Zugriffssignatur in das Terminal ein und es wird ein
Tachyon-Ionen-Impuls aktiviert, der das Schild für kurze Zeit
schwächt. Unsere Sensoren werden dies sofort registrieren und sie
da rausbeamen.
Hier sind die Koordinaten der Sonde – verschlüsselt, denn wir
werden vermutlich bereits die ganze Zeit über abgehört:

Captain's Log. Stardate 22108.8 The U.S.S.
Edelweiss is in the orbit of an unknown class M planet. It seems
that the inhabitants are a primitive culture of humanoids, who
still have wars and are stuck in the atomic age.
After listening to the radio traffic of the planet for some hours,
we have assembled an away team to inspect it closer and get to know
more about this culture which seems to be called "muggles".
Before the away team beamed on the planet, I made it clear once
again how important it is to stay unrecognized, because our prime
directive forbids to intervene in the development of primitive
cultures as long as they don't possess modern spaceship technology.
I also told them to send us all text information using standard
starfleet sigma sigma alpha code (the letters of the word are
encoded in the way A=1, B=2... and then summed up - than the
checksum of the checksum is the result, e.g. "ENTERPRISE" is
5+14+20+5+18+16+18+9+19+5=129, CS(129)=12, CS(12)=3) because you
can never be careful enough.
We masked the away team as muggles, they can use their tricorders
without problems, as we camouflaged them as something the muggles
call "GPS units". We will stay in contact with the away team
throughout their mission through hidden communicators and even be
able to see part of what they see through transmitters. However,
our picture signal is rather blurred, so we'll have to rely on the
reports of the team.
"Away team, do you hear me? This is your
captain speaking! We have beamed you on the beginning of a longer
connections. We recorded a lot of signs of life on this place, the
location seems to have some big importance for the muggles. We
think that they call it "Mariahilferstrasse". Take a closer look at
this street, maybe like that we can find out more about different
aspects of the planet and its inhabitants.“
1: Geological Configuration
„At N 48° 12.129 E 016° 21.642 our
sensors indicate an irregularity in the consistency of the building
material in comparison to the surroundings. Find out how the
muggles call the material of this structure, our geologists want to
analyze it closer later on (the origin of the material is not
important, by the way). After having sent us the denomination
encoded in sigma sigma alpha code (A) proceed along the
Mariahilferstrasse.“
2: Religion
„I see, you have already arrived at N 48°
12.031 E 016° 21.371? We assume that what you can see here is
one of the primitive temples of this culture. It would be too
dangerous for you to enter it, but let's try to find out more about
the faith of these people through the ornaments. The eye looking
out of the golden geometrical form and the rays of light up above
looks interesting, how many edges does the form have? (B).“
3: Culture
„Away team? Have you already arrived at N
48° 11.959 E 016° 21.167? This seems to be another temple, but
the statue in front of it doesn't show the characteristics of a
religious icon. Let's suppose that the first part of the
denomination of the person is more important - send it encoded (C)
so that we can do some further investigation later.“
4: Economy
„Interesting, maybe this place is not a
religious place of worship as we supposed in the beginning. The
muggles seem to receive clothes and articles of daily use here.
Probably this culture hasn't overcome capitalism yet. - You have
landed on something like a bazar! There seems to be a big
signboard, you can already see it from N 48° 11.898 E 016°
21.013. It seems that there is a number written down there
(DD). What may its significance be?“
5: Technology
„Our scanners have detected some
electromagnetic waves at N 48° 11.801 E 016° 20.657, maybe
there is some kind of communication terminal? However, it seems to
be pretty big, we don't think that the technology of this culture
is that primitive. It could be that there are multiple
communication terminals side by side. How many of them are there
close to each other at your location? (E)“
6: Trouble
„Oh no, away team, can you still hear me?
There is some imminent danger, I repeat, there is some imminent
danger! Our sensors have detected that there is some kind of shield
forming around the area. It is impossible to beam through this
shield! It seems that there is something on this planet which isn't
as primitive as we thought!“
„That can't be! We pick up extra terrestrial signs of life, they
aren't muggle signs, that's for sure, and they move with a rapid
speed from there, where you came from, into your direction! Follow
the road quickly, we have to get you out of there before the life
forms get you!"
„Fortunately we have an emergency plan! We have prepared a hidden
computer terminal in the form of a probe. Enter your access
signature in that terminal and it will activate a
tachyon-ion-impulse, which will weaken the shield for a short time.
Our sensors will register that and we will beam you out
immediately.

probably eavesdropped all the time.
