Geocache Description:

This cache is in a wash, you need a 4x4 or you will have to hike from Alta Loma Trail

The cache contains a log book, pencil and a few other miscellaneous things. After you find this cache, head south up the wash all the way to Coyote Hole Springs, coyotes have been known to dig down a few feet to reach water at the end of the canyon. On the way up the canyon you will see a weather gaging station on the left, after that look up on the canyon walls and you will see many authentic indian petroglyphs, they are hard to see at first but after you see the first they will start jumping out at you, there are many pictographs up and down this canyon. After the canyon narrows, there are no more pictographs that I can see but you can get out and walk to the end of the canyon. This site is popular, abused and used alot by dirt bikes but it is still an interesting site. This canyon was first noted in 1855 when Colonel Henry Washington surveyed the San Bernardino baseline, at the time he noted the huge rock mountain, the petroglyphs and the hole at the end of the canyon dug by coyotes. There is also an ancient indian "work circle" in the area, you will find it if you explore the area thoroughly.
