Geocache Description:

You are looking for a camo'ed pill bottle, just a few steps off the paved trail. Please BYOP capable of writing on Tyvek.

This is our first hide.  To commemorate this event, we are returning to our roots  This cache is a short walk from where one of us grew up.

The South County Trailway is a paved bicycle and pedestrian trail that extends from the Bronx line at Van Cortlandt Park to Elmsford (where, after a brief gap, it continues as the North County Trailway).  Both trailways sit on the right-of-way of the long-abandoned Putnam Division of the New York Central Railroad, known affectionately as "The Old Put."

Much of the South County Trailway parallels the Saw Mill River Parkway.  At approximately this location, a 25-cent toll was collected from 1936 to 1994.

The closest access to the trail can be found at the waypoint below.  Parking in the area is a bit tricky, especially between April 1 and October 31, when parking north of Alan B. Shepard Place is by permit only. Please pay attention to alternate side parking restrictions as well.

While there is some barbed wire in the area, it is not a factor in searching for or retrieving the cache.  If you are within an arm's length of barbed wire, you are not in the right place. Please replace as found.

Congrats to grschmid on the FTF.
