Kelsey Campground is SOLD OUT! All available sites have

have to reserve a site through Reserve America if you want to camp
there.
July 6-8, 2007
Kelsey Campground
This campout is the highest gathering of Geocachers in the Rocky
Mountain Region! It draws primarily from Colorado, but has brought
cachers from other states as well as another country. We've brought
cachers together from Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico,
Nevada, Texas, Washington, and Germany. Let’s see how many more
states and countries we can have represented!

Due to the 4th of July being on Wednesday, there isn't a holiday
weekend this year. The campground is reserved for Friday and
Saturday nights only. You may arrive anytime after 2pm on Friday
and must check out by noon on Sunday.
This campground is at an elevation of 8,000 ft so temperatures
remain cool in the summer (could still be in the low 80's). It is
forested and level. There are two vault toilets at this campground.
Campsites have paved driveways.
We have room for RV's again! After getting shortchanged on
parking last year, we've made plans to make sure you can bring your
RV this year. As a result, the camping fee is different than last
year, but still a good price. Rather than pay per person, you will
be paying $20 per vehicle (Truck and trailer counts as one
vehicle). We have room for up to two vehicles per site at this
point with a maximum of 8 people per campsite.

We will take requests for sites, but to allow us to fit everyone
in, we may have to move people around. We will park two vehicles
per campsite. If you have something big like a 5th wheel, sites 11
and 13 are large enough for you and another vehicle. If you don't
want to share a campsite, then you will need to visit
ReserveAmerica.com and create an account in order to reserve
another campsite. All campsites in the above list have been
reserved.
To reserve your campsite:
Send a check in the amount of $20.00 to:
Larry Hazeltine
2195 Whitehorn Dr N
Colorado Springs, CO 80920
Include the following information: Number of people in your group,
Type of vehicle (car, truck and trailer, RV, etc) and total length,
and if you prefer a particular site (include your first, second,
and third choice). We will try to accommodate all requests.
I suggest using a map, but here are the general directions to
the campground:
From Denver, due to road construction on Hwy 285, take I-70 west to
the Evergreen Parkway exit and go south until you get to Hwy 73 in
Evergreen. Bear right onto Hwy 73 and stay on Hwy 73 going south
until it intersects with US-285 near Conifer. Continue south on
US-285 to Pine Junction. At Pine Junction turn south on Jefferson
County 126 and travel approximately 17 miles to the Kelsey
Campground.
From Colorado Springs, take Highway 24 northwest to Woodland Park.
Take County Road 67 north to County Road 126. Head west from this
junction, then north to the campground.
*** Non-campers: ***
If you are coming up for just the day, there is a day-use fee of $4
payable at the campground fee station. Parking is available on
National Forest road 534 about a 1/2 mile northeast of the
campground entrance. There is no guarantee we will have enough
parking for you! This is a campout event and preference will be
given to those camping for the weekend. We will be monitoring FRS
channel 2 throughout the event. If you have an FRS radio, call us
from the fee station and we can try to find parking for you.
