Geocache Description:

Informal get together to swap TB's and chat. There will be some geocoins to log for those who want the new icons.

UPDATE:
There will be a quiz with the winner announced at 1430 hrs followed by a free coin draw.

WHEN:
1200 - 1500 hrs 29 October 2005

LOCATION:
The Railway Inn, Fourstones, Hexham, Northumberland NE47 5DG

VENUE:
An informal meeting with food and refreshments while chatting about geocaching as well as the usual swapping of TB's.

The pub is open from 1200 - 2300 hrs
Food is served 1200 - 1500 and 1800 - 2030 (for those who may wish to stay later).
Children and dogs are welcome.
There is B & B available in the area.

Retrace Lord Baden Powells foot steps......
...you can retrace Baden Powells foot steps as the campers marched from Fourstones Railway station to the site of the worlds first official Scout Camp in 1908.
The Newcastle Upon Tyne Central District Scout Fellowship, invite you to take part in the Baden Powell Walk from Fourstones to the Lookwide Campsite, following in Baden Powells footsteps to the original site of the first Scout Camp in 1908, which lies in the County of Northumberland.

Fourstones is a hamlet in west Northumberland 3 miles north west of Hexham lying between the A69 main Newcastle to Carlisle road and the B6318 'Military road'.
The place name is recorded from the 13th century and is believed to refer to four boundary stones which are said to be Roman Altars. Interestingly one of these boundary stones was used by the leaders of the 1715 Jacobite rising to hide secret correspondence.
Fourstones was the location of the largest wytherite mine in the country and the sandstone quarried in the area was of high quality and shipped as far a field as London.

For the out of towners there will be printouts of the 5 current caches within 2 miles of the inn available at the meet. For everyone there will be new caches planted for the day.
