"Up, up and away!" These are the iconic words that comprise the
infamous catchphrase of the world's most "beloved" superhero. Many
have spoken glowingly of the benefits that Superman has brought to
our society, but who can say with certainty what this man truly is?
Let us not be fooled: any man conceited enough to christen himself
"super" is at best a shady character!
Sure, he saved the planet a few times, but is that alone enough
to endear him to us? Even Al Capone knew that the best way to throw
the authorities off his trail was to fake acts of heroism in
public. Violent tendencies are, after all, among the most common
side effects of excessive public adoration.
Let’s just assume, for a moment, that he really is a
well-intentioned do-gooder; it’s not like we don’t have enough
other evidence on which to convict him. Let’s examine his claim
that he’s the ostracized orphan of an expatriate from an alien
planet called… what was it called again? Krypton, that’s right.
Now, does that sound like a plausible story? I mean, if I showed up
one day, and claimed to be the reincarnation of the last Emperor of
Atlantis, wouldn’t Superman be the first to brand me a lunatic?
Fortunately, we are not so easily deceived. Let us bring an end
to this imbecilic idol-worship, and expose this… “super man” as the
charlatan that he is! Only history can determine Kal-El’s legacy,
but we’d be condemning ourselves if we simply watch and applaud as
he overruns our planet! Unless we confront this menace immediately,
our children will curse us for our indifference!
