Working for the company that use to manage this area has/had its lurks and perks. For work purposes I use to access this area everyday, and on the odd occasion when work was a bit slow we managed to do a bit of exploring. We've stumbled across some spectacular views, amazing wildlife and the occasional crazy person. Alas times have changed, along with work locations and I no longer get to frequent this area, but this is spot I wanted to share with the rest of you.
The cache is situated in a spot that’s a reminder to us all, about the hazards we face while at work. Bring your camera, a drink, the appropriate clothing for a bushwalk and enjoy the area. The 3 star rating for this cache is only a guide as it can vary anywhere between a 2 and 4 star rating depending on your level of fitness and the condition of the dirt access road, so a 4WD is advisable, but not essential.
Drive to the big 'Bonanza' style gates and park. Only walkers are permitted beyond the gates so don’t bring your MTB as these aren't permitted. From this point it's approx' 2km's to the cache along defined trails so theres no need to bushbash. After finding the cache, sign the log, make your swaps and enjoy the scenery.
Whilst the scenery is spectacular, there are no fences to stay behind so keep the geokiddies close by.
