Bundyrumandcoke: As we are leaving Blackwater to head back to Gladstone soon, I wont be maintaining these western caches.

Geocache Description:

Trains, trains everywhere.

A quick stopoff as you travel the Capricorn Highway. Or you may want to sit a while, and watch the trains.

This rest area has toilets, covered seats and tables, and small town amenities very close by.

Across the road is a major traincrew change point on Queensland Rails Blackwater coal system. With up to 100 wagons, and 5 locomotives, the loaded coal trains (eastbound) can weigh in excess of 10 000 tonnes, and can be over 1600 metres long. These trains run almost 24hrs a day, 365 days a year. They service an area from Dysart in the north, to Springsure in the west, to Rolleston in the south. They all head east to Gladstone or Stanwell. In addition, the occasional freight and passenger (Spirit of the Outback) can be seen.

In addition, a small monument in the park commemorates 100 years of Bluff.

The cache itself is a piece of cake to find, being a small Systema container with paint camoflague.
