Geocache Description:

NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES BUT WITHIN 10KM.

A night cache that will take some brain power and knowledge of grid systems, datum, and your GPS to solve.

This night cache is pretty simple once you figure out where to start. When you arrive at parking, you will see a trail blaze on one side of the trail and two tan firetacks on the other side. Follow the firetacks for 10 minutes or so. When you come out of the main bush, look for the next firetack and go to it before looking ahead to the next one. If you try to take the shortcut and skip a firetack, you will be walking through heavier brush and other ground clutter.

**Note...as you leave the main bush and walk up a slight hill, keep an eye out at the top of the hill for an old wire fence that is flat on the ground but could be a tripping hazard if you are rushing.

Only signed logs count as a find. I will be checking from time to time. Yes, it is a micro...

This is an old Agreement Forest Trail but has likely not been used for years. There is a neighbor about 500M from the trailhead...please do not park near their driveway and try not to make too much noise in the dark out of respect for their privacy.

Now, how do you find parking??? Here is a letter from a summer camper...

Dear Mommy and Daddy,

Things are great at camp! I am having a lot of fun!! I thought I would write you a letter since we have some free time now that Galloping Gourmet has burned down the kitchen and we have to wait for the pizza order to arrive.

Geocite and I were out hiking today when we came upon some small black container with a grey lid and some paper in it. There were a bunch of names and dates on the paper and we had no idea what it was. We thought it might have been some sort of spy drop and as we were reading it, NAD27 came by and told us that he thought it was one of those Geocaches he had heard of. We all decided it would be a good idea to take it back to our councilor, Rogking, for a second look as he is pretty techy.

We brought it over to Rogking in Cabin 17T and he took a look at it and decided he should take it into the town of Centerline for the police to see (I think Rogking just looks for reasons to go driving through the country). “I’ll be gone for a while campers since the town is 30.26km west of us” he said. “I’m leaving Beelow in charge while I’m gone”. None of us were happy with that though as Beelow is pretty evil, though at least not as insane as Muddy Mae and Max Power.

While he was gone, we all got bored. We all tried to find things to do and so off in one corner was Knitter knitting and Hamgran trying to put numbers all over her project. In another corner, ElectroQTed was trying to convince ZubercacherZ to stick a key in an electrical socket (ElectroQTed seems like a nice guy but I think he has a mean streak sometimes) and outside Frankie and Johnny were trying to staple a squirrel to a tree.

The rest of us decided to have a trivia contest. Most of the questions were pretty easy but then M3J (who just arrived for the night) asked all of us the toughest one. “How far are we from the equator, right here?” Most of us had no idea but then brain21 spoke up…”Four thousand, eight hundred and fourteen point two five five kilometers”. Who were we to argue with someone named brain?

M3J replied “Yup, you’re right…here is your prize”. As M3J handed over the bucket and brain 21 opened it, we all were surprised to find a whole bunch of those same black plastic containers that Rogking was now taking to the police.

“What?” M3J asked, seeing our puzzled looks. We told him the story about what Geocite and I found and that Rogking was taking one of these that we found into the police.

“Where did you find it?” M3J asked. I told him it was by the rock pile in the woods.

“I put that there….great!!” M3J said in exasperation. Just then, Rogking returned and told us that the police said it was no big deal. By now, we all knew that it was just a geocache that M3J had placed out there in the woods for his friends to find with their GPSs. Brain21 grabbed it and threw it in the bucket with the others. “Have fun finding it now!” he said.

Anyway, that was our excitement for the day. I’ll send you pictures as soon as Northern Penguin gets them printed.

Love,

Your son, CacheDrone

PS. Thanks for the flashlights and bug spray…they will come in real handy tonight.
