Curtis Merritt Harbor was Completed in 2005,
This Chincoteague Island facility improvement was a joint project between the Town of Chincoteague, the Virginia Port Authority and VSRFDF.
It included such improvements as the breakwater, bulkheading, finger piers, handicapped floating pier, fish cleaning station, collector piers and a paved parking lot area.
This location gives boating access to Chincoteague Bay as well as other seaside Eastern Shore inlets and bays and the Atlantic Ocean.
The Harbor is on the southwest end of Chincoteague Island in Accomack County.
Harbor Hours are 5am to 10pm
Please respect hours and NO CACHING 10pm to 5am
A Great Location to view the setting Sun over Wallops Island, Many Island Charters come and go from this port, as well as Fisherman in search of a Great days catch.
This small cache you seek is hidden inside a larger host to prevent muggles from knowing its contents.
Parking is available almost beside the cache and can help provide some cover for your search

The Host container is attached, and has a slight trick to gain access. Once you find the entrance, just pull the pin to open the door.
Cache stocked with Log Sheet/Stash note and SWAG, No room for writing utensil so BYOP. Room inside for small trackables and geocoins . Be a Responsible cacher and log all trackables in and out ASAP.
