This cache is placed in one of the original cemetery's in Oelwein. It is also where the towns namesakes are buried.
You can also see where the great railroad switch yards and repair shops were from years ago. Oelwein was called the Hub City because of its central location for the Chicago Great Western Railroad. The main lines came from Minneapolis, Chicago and Kansas City all merging in Oelwein.
