Geocache Description:

This cache is located on state property on the beautiful Manistee River. A good refrence point is the CCC Bridge located at N 44 36.891 W 084 59.486. From the bridge use the road on the south side of the river.

The site of this cache has a mysterious ledgend. At at one time three brothers owned a cabin on this property. Shortly before one of the brothers died, rumors have it, there was a propery dispute and one of them burned the cabin to the ground. Look for the foundation of this cabin. The property is now owned by the state and has red pines planted in neat rows by the Civil Conservation Corp.(They also built the bridge, thus the name CCC Bridge) This was done in the 1930's to replace the logged over native white pine forest. It is a beautiful spot so bring your lunch for a picnic.
