Geocache Description:

My husband grew up in Woodburn.  It is a railroad town that used to be home of several businesses.  This kid-friendly cache is hidden in a small playground and picnic area.  We did receive permission from the mayor to place the cache here.  There is a neigboring dog who barks but has never approached my family, but he may not appreciate other canines snooping around the park.

I was asked about Mabel Frizzell (who the park is named for). Mabel was originally a Mason and there are a lot of Masons and Frizzells involved in the history of Woodburn. The Mabel and her family were strong supporters of the Woodburn community for many years. After Mabel passed away her daughter Peggy created the park and marker in her memory. Mabel was always a "Fusser" She cleaned things that didn't even need cleaning and loved to groom her yard. Her home church hasn't been in the same shape since she passed away....years ago!! Mabel is buried in the Woodburn Cemetery up the hill to the south of this location. Her grave is near one of the caches there.
