Taurages pilis – tai rumu ansamblis, pastatytas 1844–1864 metais. Vertingiausia ansamblio dalis – pilies pastatas, statytas pasienio muitinei.Dviaukšti pilies pastata supa aklina muro tvora.
Pilis laikoma vieninteliu paminklu Lietuvoje, primenanciu XVI–XVII amžiaus ribos renesansines pilis.
Taurages pilis yra buvusi ir muitine, ir kalejimas, ir psichiatrine ligonine, taciau ji niekada neatliko pilims budingu funkciju.
Šiandien pilyje isikures moksleiviu kurybos centras, vaiku biblioteka,"Santakos" muziejus,fotografijos galerija.

(EN)The Castle of Taurage is castle buildings complex, build in 1844–1864 year. The most valuable part of complex are the building build as border customs. Two-storied building surrounded by tall brick fence.
Castle are thought as only monument in Lithuania reminding the castles from ages of renaissance (XVI-XVII century). This castle were used as prison, psychiatric hospital, but it never were used as real castle.
Today there setteled down library for childrens, the muzeum of "Santaka", the gallery of photography and students creativity center.
