Warning

Please note: To use the services of geocaching.com, you must agree to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

This multi-cache will lead you through some of the most scenic areas around. The caches themselves are only a mile or so apart. Looks can be deceiving. Parts of this cache are located near areas with Drastic changes in elevation and terrain, so plan Accordingly. You will also have to find a different parking spot for each leg. Make a day of this one by doing a few of the other near-by caches.
Start off your hunt at the listed coordinats. There you will have to find JENNIE C.
From her, you need to take 40 paces East on a heading of about 118 degrees. Once thier, locate the Micro containing the waypoint for the next leg. This will lead you to a
letterbox cache. The letterbox has a log book for you to sign and stamp with your stamp, the cache also has its own stamp for you to use in your book.
Inside the cache you will find your next waypoint, which will lead you to the final cache coordinates, which are Offset.
For the final coordinates, Subtract .041 from the North Seconds and Subtract .059 from the West Seconds.

The final Cache is a 50 cal. ammo can, well camouflaged. Inside you will find many "Fine Collectable" items. Including, 1964 Silver JFK half dollar, assorted wheat pennies, old stamps, starting lineup-Jim Kelly QB card, antique cuff links,Silver bracelet,Where's George dollar, assortment of State Quarters, mini-cassette recorder Fossils, Etc,

Please keep the theme of the cache in mind and trade equitably.
*Leave all parts of this cache as you found them.
Do not take or leave anything at the letterbox site.

the terrain for the first legs of this cache should be suitable for the average cacher, the last leg could get tricky if you take the wrong path .

What is letterboxing.
Letterboxing is a growing hobby that combines elements of hiking, treasure hunting and creative expression.. Participants seek out hidden letterboxes by following clues and then record their discovery in their personal journal with the help of a rubber stamp that's part of the letterbox. In addition, letterboxers have their own personal stamps which they use to stamp into the letterbox's log book.According to legend, letterboxing began in southwestern England in the mid-1800s when a Victorian gentleman hid his calling card in a bottle. Today, the nearby area is the Dartmoor National Park, and by some accounts there are as many as 10,000 or more letterboxes hidden there!

GOOD LUCK!

Well I DID IT.But i did like a few others and offset the cords at leg #3.I guess I should of read some logs first.I was also over the cliff, searched it for almost an hour.Came up Hot and frustrated.Found leg 3 on my third trip there and a little hint from Dora.I was about to give up and WOW there it is.The final was easy compared to legs 2 and 3.This was by far the Hardest find I have had yet.Now that its done I feel so much better.I took some bubbles, patch, quarter and penny. Left noise putty, activity book, lighter and 2 army guys.

Was challenged to find this cache. I run a website dedicated to Zoar Valley so we love the area. Knowing the area is a BIG BONUS for this cache. Tricky knowing where to drive to and park for this series. I can just see it now people trying to get over the gorge - haha.

We found Stage 1 pretty fast like. We followed the instruction after finding Jennie C. This stage is in EXCELLENT shape and hidden well for the next hunter. Off two Stage 2. Yes we love the central peninsula. Parking in a spot we have used numerous times over the years - even remember when the bridge use to be up - but we hiked on a trail we never hiked on before. Excellent day for a hike in this area. Arriving at ground zero I had Jr check a bunch of spots. Natta. Arg, this is a tough hide but we gotta find it. So we searched rescue style over the whole area - natta. After over 30 minutes of searching I had to sit down and think. Only 5 seconds of sitting here I had an intuition, Frannie go look over yonder right there - 100 feet away and seconds after him getting there "huckle buckle" Hey kid you messing with me? Nope, he had it. Yessiree bob awesome! Wait till you see this hide - I do not want to give any hints, but nature has done some work here. This letterbox cache is in excellent shape and the instructions for stage 3 are very clear and also in excellent shape. Off to stage 3 - wait, for those in the future who want an awesome experience continue on following the red x's on the trees to an area called "The Point" not to be confused by other areas called this mistakenly. Here is a web page on this spot: (visit link) you will be up top where Frannie is holding onto the roots. Awesome area. Alright, back off to stage 3.

This is were a person who does not know the area would be stumped. Huh? Stage three is only this many yards away - yes, as an Eagle flies - haha. A few miles as a vehicle goes. Arriving at stage 3 parking area, an area we know well (we have a cache here GC1RJ2N). Off into the woods for some heavy duty bush whacking. Our trusty 60CSx gets us to GZ and we look and look and look some more. Alright, I need a break - I hike up to the gorge edge near Holcomb Falls and right there 50 yards up two deer stand up in front of me- kewl. I stair at them and they decide I am uglier and they "white tail" it away. Okay back to find this stage. Frannie this is GZ - we have a good signal and we looked everywhere. Come on lets go sit on this log where the sun is shinning down on the forest floor through a hole in the canopy above. Frannie - it is made of what a penny is but the size of a dollar. I know what it is it is.... no sooner I said that and Frannie says huckle buckle - you messing with me boy - nope! What an awesome idea of a stage cache. Stage 3 is in excellent shape folks. Come get some. I took a different route back to the pickup - phew I was tired (I am in the middle of some strong medical treatments and my red blood cells are real low) up hill back and I am sucking air. Made it back to our truck and did the math for the final. Okay I know where it is - we have company coming over the homestead for a cookout and fire we will have to get to the final later Frannie.

What an awesome journey! I have to say we had help from above or a lot of luck today - these hides are tough.

Well after 2 weeks and about 6 times out I finally found the last leg. This was the most frustrating and difficult cache I've done so far. But it was also the most enjoyable. The cliff people talke about almost going down, well I did and hiked right back up it when I realized I was on the wrong side of the creek. I encountered a deer that wasn't real happy about my presents, and went through about a tank of gas finding the right places. I've got more cuts and scrathes on my legs from bushwacking through the woods then I can rememeber. Subtracted cords early then not at all too. But i'd do it all over again too lol. Thanks for the epic adventure that is "A Rare Find" Signed the log.

That was the kind of epic adventure all caches should be like. Laura and I started on this at about noon on Friday, and made it to the edge of a cliff where we pondered climbing to our certain death by about five PM. We somehow subtracted the offset part a leg too early and walked past where we wanted to be and, looked over a five hundred foot cliff thinking the cache was two hundred feet out over the edge. We hiked and bushwhacked for ever looking for a way down there. Laura had to talk me out of sliding to my death down a very scenic waterfall.

Once back at the air conditioned car I forgot all my pain and suffering; my self preservation instinct completely failed me as I said to Laura,"I have an idea, Wait here! And don't worry about calling 911, I'm not going off the cliff." Shortly afterward, I had another set of coord's in hand.

The next day we woke up refreshed after camping out near "Wilderness Trail?" cache, and I asked Laura if she wanted to tackle the final with me. She responded with the universal hand signal for "I don"t think so buddy", so I loaded the dog in the car and we left her at camp for the final leg. Before long I had the find and my existence was justified.
I would like to thank GC.com for making this all possible. I would also like to thank Lt. Gull for hiding such a spectacular cache. I mustn't forget to thank Laura for stopping me from crawling to my immenent death. I also want to thank my my parents for bringing me into this world, Coleman for making my tent waterproof so this world is more bearable, and my fans, Garmin, and all the other people for standing behind me, and for putting that ravine there and planting those trees and making this a free country, etc etc...
This cache comes highly reccommended my the National Dr. Evil Cache Rating Society (NDECRS), and recieves a rating of 9.5 on a scale of 1-10. It's a very complex rating system, but in short it lost points for it's confusing-ness and then gained them right back for the same reason. A challenge is good.
In summary: Thanks for the great cache. All the parts were in perfect condition. I wasn't going to take or leave anything, but the bag of wheat pennies said "take one", so I did.
